Two component clear
waterborne varnish. It is a permanent
protection against graffiti which resists to graffiti cleaner, effective over
thick coatings, paints, stone, cement, delicate substrates.
I- PROPERTIES
SCALP
VERNAEAU PU 16 is clear waterborne polyurethane varnish.. It is designed to
protect surfaces which are sensitive to solvent such as for example paint,
thick façade coating, PVC cabinets, road panels, and enable cleaning them when
spoiled with graffiti.
After
polymerisation, film formed by SCALP VERNAEAU PU 16 resists to many rubs with
SCALP ANTI GRAFFITI 49 or to stripping with SCALPEX AL
SCALP
VERNAEAU PU 16 is a waterborne dispersion and display in deliver form a milky
aspect, but it becomes clear after drying and polymerisation.
The
film resist well to outside weathering, it is micro-porous and let the
substrate breath. It is not saponifiable and resist to pH variation from substrate.
SCALP
VERNAEAU PU 16 can be used both inside or outside.

Pot life: 3 hours
Drying time: 8 hours at 20_C
Recoating: after 1 hour
Sensitive to freezing
Efficiency: 150 to 200 g/m2
Ambient application temperature : 5 to 50 _C
III- INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Pour the hardener into the resin bucket, stir well
for 5 minutes. SCALP VERNAEAU PU 16 is ready to use when blend is achieved, and
must be used within 3 hours.
Apply SCALP VERNAEAU PU 16 with a brush or roller,
avoid local excess or sagging.
Let dry for 1 hour only, then apply a second coat:
it must be noticed that in order to obtain good adhesion between the 2 coats,
the first coat must be recoated before it is completely dried and polymerised.
SCALP VERNAEAU PU 16 will exhibit actual protection
against Graffiti after 3 days of further drying. The SCALP VERNAEAU PU 16 film provides
a wet appearance over porous surface such as stone, marble, when use as alone.
It is recommended to apply first Scalp primer 36 as undercoat.
Tools must be cleaned with water immediately after
use.
